GREEN / SEASONAL / ACCESSIBLE

FERN is a green florist and that applies in two different ways. Firstly, FERN aims to be as environmentally green as possible. I use British grown flowers as much as I can, I wrap my flowers in recyclable or biodegradable packaging and I don't use floral foam at all.

I am always working on ways to make FERN even more sustainable and kind to our environment.

Secondly, FERN is visually green! I like to work with a lot of foliage to give bouquets and arrangements a luscious array of greens to surround the flowers - just how they look when growing in a garden.

I try to use British flowers and foliage as much as possible which means I rely heavily on the seasons for what I can offer. For weddings and funeral pieces I can use imported flowers to fulfil desired colour palettes and schemes, and these are ordered in bunched amounts dictated by wholesalers. For gift bouquets I use locally grown florals and foliage which I can get in any quantity, either from my own patch or other local growers.

Hence I only offer gift bouquets between April and October when the UK growing season will give me beautiful materials to work with.

Flowers are beautiful and everyone should be able to enjoy them. I will always make sure I have options available for small budgets, big budgets, and everything in between. Though I have set prices for certain items, I am forever open to discussion to see if we can help deliver you something beautiful to suit you.

Accessibility isn't just about cost though. Before I trained I would never have thought of going to a florist because there were too many options involved and it can be intimidating and overwhelming. To try and help I have examples of what you can order visible on my website to give you an idea of what you could have for different occasions, and of course I am always more than willing to give advice, answer questions or even just have a chat.
